Harmonizing knowledge: my teaching journey
Welcome to my teaching experience page. My passion lies in fostering engaging, student-centered learning environments where every individual can thrive. I believe in empowering students through interactive methods, connecting lessons to the real world and celebrating diverse perspectives.

A decade of private music instruction
For ten years, I had the privilege of providing private music lessons, covering violin playing, comprehensive music theory, advanced harmony, and music history. My approach always centered on individual student needs, fostering a deep understanding and love for music in each learner.

Academic insights: university lecturing
Beyond private lessons, I also served as a lecturer at Chongqing College of Mobile Communication in China for two years. There, I designed and delivered two enriching courses: "Introductory Western Classical Music" and "20th Century American Broadway Musicals," introducing students to diverse musical traditions and historical contexts.

Empowering learners through interactive teaching
My teaching style is defined by its strong emphasis on student voice and engagement. I move beyond traditional lectures, encouraging critical thinking, peer discussions, and diverse expressions of understanding whether through writing, drawing or conversation. This flexibility boosts confidence and motivation, giving students choice in their learning journey and helping them connect lessons to real-world contexts.
